Syntax Ground Rules

The 4 basic symbols that Excel uses:
  1. = (Equal Sign) Must be used in order to create formulas, and can also be used as a Comparison Operator
  2. , (Comma) Separates arguments within functions.
  3. () (Parentheses) Marks the beginning and end of functions, and enforces the order of operations.
  4. "" (Double Quotes) Marks the beginning and end of text inside of formulas.
